The release of the State of Europe’s Forests (SoEF) 2025 has been rescheduled, following a joint decision by the FOREST EUROPE General Coordination Committee.

The State of Europe’s Forests is the flagship report of the FOREST EUROPE process. To ensure the report delivers the highest value for policymakers and decision makers, additional time is being taken to refine the analytical content and the Summary for Policymakers. 

The underlying data presented in the SoEF report is sound and reliable. Our goal is to provide not only accurate data, but also meaningful insights that inform effective policy. To that end, the General Coordination Committee of FOREST EUROPE has made the considered decision to reschedule the launch of the report from December 2025 to the first quarter of 2026.

This step reflects the continued commitment to accuracy, transparency, and the high standards long associated with the SoEF series. Importantly, this timeline change does not affect ongoing sustainable forest management efforts across Europe, as national processes continue independently.

The confirmed publication date will be announced as soon as it is set.
