We are pleased to announce the release of the State of Europe’s Forests 2025 (SoEF 2025) – Forest Europe’s flagship report.

The SoEF 2025 offers the most comprehensive overview of Europe’s forests – their condition, trends and contributions to sustainable development. It is an essential reference for policymakers, researchers and stakeholders, supporting evidence-based decision-making and a shared understanding of Sustainable Forest Management in Europe.

The report is prepared by the European Forest Institute (EFI) and is based on the Joint Pan-European Data Collection (JPEDC) 2025 cycle, led by UNECE with the support of FAO, and developed in full integration with the pan-European data collection process. It reflects the dedicated work of national correspondents and experts across Europe, whose contributions have been vital in ensuring the quality and consistency of the information presented.
