Forest Europe invites the nominated experts to the first Expert Group meeting on the Forest Risk Knowledge Mechanism. The meeting will take place virtually on 19 January 2022 from 1.30 PM to 5 PM and 20 January 2022 from 9 AM to 12.30 PM CET.

The preliminary agenda includes a comprehensive exchange on the concept paper (to be circulated before the meeting) with the focus on required added-values and the way forward for the work towards the Forest Risk Knowledge Mechanism. Furthermore, the main findings of the questionnaire (“Workstream 2 – Pan-European Forest Risk Knowledge Mechanism”) will be presented to the participants for further consideration on how to incorporate the feedback of Forest Europe signatories and observers into the foreseen forest risk knowledge mechanism. In addition, recent scientific findings of forest resilience studies as well as information on ongoing activities in this area by Forest Europe will be presented.
